Be Like a Tree

Be Like a Tree

The other day I was out for a walk through the forest. As I reached the edge of the woods, I stopped for a moment and looked at a row of trees. There was nothing extraordinary about them, but the longer I stood there, the more I realized how much we can learn from something so ordinary.

A tree doesn't worry about tomorrow's weather.

It doesn't complain when the wind gets stronger or when the rain won't stop. It doesn't compare itself to the tree beside it or wish it had grown somewhere else. It simply accepts the conditions it's given and keeps growing.

That thought stayed with me for the rest of my walk.

We spend so much of our lives worrying about things we can't control. Whether people will like our work. Whether sales will go up or down. Whether algorithms change. Whether AI will reshape our industry. Whether someone else is further ahead than we are.

But worrying about the weather has never helped a tree grow.

Instead, it adapts. Every season asks something different of it. Some seasons are for growth, others are for endurance. Yet through all of them, it continues doing what it was made to do.

I think life works the same way.

Not every season will be your best one. Sometimes progress is obvious, sometimes it's invisible. There will be setbacks, uncertainty and moments when you wonder if you're moving forward at all.

Keep going anyway.

Focus on what you can control. Learn. Create. Improve. Be patient. Trust that every challenge is making your roots a little stronger, even if nobody else can see it yet.

One day, people may admire how tall the tree has become.

Very few will ever think about the years it quietly spent growing when nobody was watching.

Keep growing.
